Example of a very common & popular scenario:
Client wants a website for his new business
1- You offer 800$ including design, logo, domain hosting & some back-end.
This is why I hesitate as well. Sometimes the client says he wants a developer to code a site but what he really needs is Wordpress or Wix.
So I prefer to be like a consultant, find solutions and do a minimum of coding, than spend days and night coding something and then the client will not be happy because somebody showed them Wix and that is what they really needed.

This is my experience and I stopped taking projects in the last 4 years unless it is interesting or related to matters/subjects I care about.
I fully understand.
I also had the same experience with freelance being satisfying. However if you do it for too long you will develop zero tolerance to office B.S. and sometimes you have to be pushed a little to learn something new. Also full time jobs in a company that has big projects can expose you to work on another scale.
