Welcome to the forum.
I'm learning python on my own which seems like a mega challenge
Great challenge, good luck! Python is great. If you have questions, please ask ahead in the forum.
i use linux which doesnt support most games
This is still true, unfortunately, but the situation has improved drastically in the past 5-10 years. Steam has been ported to Linux and with that a serious chunk of games have been ported too. Some of the most successful titles are now available like:
- Dota 2
- Civilization V
- Counter Strike GO
- Minecraft
- Borderlands 2
- Rocket League
- Team Fortress 2
- Ark: Survival Evolved
You can also find some amazing indie games like Stardew Valley (definitely worth checking out if you're into farm simulator games!) or Garry's Mod.
Finally, you can find some very solid emulators of older consoles available for Linux. I've been using
Desmume to play Pokemon (Black, a relatively recent game) for the past 2 weeks. It's not actively developed anymore, but some maintenance and support is still provided via their forum and light patches. You can always find emulators of your favorite consoles to play the games that were popular 5 years ago.
