Hello
There is a local ISP in my area that provides internet through what I think is microwave connection.
They basically install an antenna on the roof of the building and wire a network cable from the roof to the apartment.
Available bundles are 2Mbps to 8Mbps. I am thinking of getting the 5Mbps 130G limit (I have no landline)
is this a common installation process?
if anyone has a similar connection, is it good?
does it cut off when there is bad weather?
I am currently subscribed with connect 2Mpbs (its slow and expensive). will the local ISP 5Mbps be much better?

If you call them and ask, they may give you a test line for a couple of days so you can check their 'promised' speeds and service. I tested out someone's 3mb service and over the course of 3 days, the best I got was 1.8mb and it was usually 1-1.2 mb so I didn't sign up. It couldn't hurt to try, and just be aware, these guys depend on line of sight, so you may lose connections in rainy, foggy or even dusty weather.
