  • TV Common interface CI+ / Smart card. Any use for that ?

Hello guys, anyone tried to make this thing work on his TV ?

I've seen a lot of Tvs with common interface slot but I'm not sure how useles it is. I'm not into Tvs but if the Tv has DVB-S/C/T and a smart card slot, wouldn't that mean a receiver is no longer needed ?

Here's a description from the TV manual :





I have 2 of these cards.and I am also using the internal receiver without the need for another remote or an external receiver. You need the right CI if your external receiver requires a card to be plugged in.

That's very interesting. What kind of cards ? are you living in Lebanon ? I need more info please.
I've bought 2 different universal cards from abroad (Ebay). The cable guy didn't give me any tech requirement, since he didn't know a s*** about what i'm talking 2 :D. I'll give you more info about these once I get back home. and yes Iive in leb.

OK please tell me the cards you're using and what PTV channels it gives you access to.
