Salloum I’m travelling to the States this summer and we want to go on roadtrips. Was wondering if I can use the Lebanese license to rent a car there or would I have to do the international one?
samer The new driver's license technically can be used abroad, because it is translated into English directly on the document itself. I have not tried it though, and you probably want to ask around.
rolf I'm a bit skeptic that you could use the new license abroad. In any case there is always the "international license" which you can use if you're not a resident of the country you're going to. I heard that you get it automatically which is a bit ridiculous considering how hard and expensive it is to get a driver's license in most other countries. In any case I would recommend you to study the driving rules of the USA, so that you can stay safe and avoid trouble.
nuclearcat I suggest to read this: https://www.dmv.org/travel/driving-in-the-united-states.php#Short-Term-Visitors-vs-Non-Citizen-Residents
Salloum Thanks for your answers everyone! The reason I was thinking I could use the new license by itself is because it’s already in English, and the international license is just a translation.
