So I want to buy a sony 55X900E but Kintaro doesn't have anymore from this model and Abed tahan is too expensive, any other places in Lebanon that sell Sony TVs?
Yup same question here; i'll be following this thread.
@techguru should be able to help I think!
Finally bought the 55x9000E from Abed Tahan, they have an offer now with a soundbar, they deduced me the soundbar's price and made me a good price :)
Though I know someone there, so I can't say which price they made, but I can say it's pretty good for this top TV
What's the price of the original offer? And can you buy it without the soundbar? If so what's the price?
The TV with the soundbar = 1550$
The showroom seller didn't want to deduce the soundbar, so I had to use one of my wasta to get the TV without it at a sweet price given the crazy specs
Too bad it costs less than 1000$ in USA. Always overpriced in here!

No that bad all a 550 USD difference with a Sound Bar for the X900e 55 inch model being at 1000 USD in the USA. Shipment + Customs + 11% VAT + Profit Margin added with 150 USD sound bar for the World 1st Top Mid Tier TV according to Rtings.com is a very good deal along with a one year local warranty from Abed Tahan. A definite pick for me 2160p native 10 bit panel / 120hz with Full Array Local Dimming and a reliable build (Sony Malayisa are being imported here) much better than Samsung /LGs offers.

By your logic, a samsung galaxy S9 should cost 1200$ or a Sony smartphone should cost 1000$. (let alone that phones in here some of the cheapest in the world).

The TV price is the official Sony price worldwide! It should be 1000$ (or its equivalent) everywhere!
You should not include a shipment + customs + profit margin in this case! Maybe even VAT or part of it!
This is the official Sony retailer we're talking here. He isn't ordering the TVs via AMAZON!

Incorrect usually electronics manufacturers list the item as a starting price * - with a reseller price might vary footnote. You cannot generalize one retail price for the whole world there are many equations that enter to attain the final retail price.

Some countries have the assembly line in their country some do not not , have have internal sales taxes that differ from others etc..

Example 2: Darty is the one of the largest electronics retail shops in France - like Abed Tahan here they list the X900e @ 1466 Euros ~ 1700 USD.

On a somewhat related note, I just remembered that the Sony distributor/dealer was near LAU--Nassar IIRC. Are they still the official guys or has that changed?

@LifeEngineer--The MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) which you see listed is just a suggestion and is usually near the floor of the selling price. Some companies are much stricter (usually the big brands) on its implementation and how much lower a company can sell their product. That is why you won't find much difference between some brands on Amazon and local 'brick and mortar' establishments. They will be marginally lower but the difference due to local taxes and somewhat offset by shipping. Things like Iphones, Bose speaker and Sony TV's are often similar in price regardless of where you buy them. An item with an MSRP of $1000 may be found for $950 or so on an online retailer which is what the manufacturers want. Technically this is price fixing and they justify it by limiting supplies and other means
As I'm only looking for a TV for gaming, I would take this instead: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x690e

"The Sony X690E is a good 4k LED TV with decent picture quality, low input lag and good handling of motion. It's only found in larger sizes, but it's a versatile entry-level TV. Unfortunately, its picture quality deteriorates at an angle, and its limited HDR capabilities stop the feature from having much of an effect on picture quality."

Low input lag and good handling of motion are the key for me, in addition to 4K of course. 60" is great too!

Does anyone know if we can find this TV in here?!

EDIT: Or maybe I should forget about a 4K TV for now and keep my FHD TV until PS5 drops and by then, 4K HDR TVs will get better and cheaper.
