The only one plus i found in lebanon is for 680$, for the 8gb/128gb which is apparently an overkill. And of course there's no warranty...
LG G2. Kinda old, still working.
Android apps are mostly compatible, even though I'm running Android 4. I read that this phone will run Android 7 but I'd have to get some non-official ROM and I'm a bit worried about malicious stuff, plus it would take a little time.
Android is pretty good, compatibility and security wise. Since apps run inside some sort of VM, I am not too worried even thought I'm running an old version of the OS. I wish we could have Android on desktop, but with a different UI.

You shouldn't worry about flashing a custom rom for your G2. Try out the lineage 14.1 rom for your phone it works great for a near stock android experience.

as for android on desktop check this out

I'm using a Note 8. Still going strong after 6 months, no lag at all (didn't even have to factory reset). Only negative points are the battery life and the looks of the device (just personal opinion. it's too long and big even for 6.3" screen). Not rooted, no custom ROM, but using substrate for overlays and changed the DPI under developer options, looks lovely. A true phablet.
you're right the battery is just too small for the note 8.
Huawei wins in this category hands down.
edit: is the pen worth the difference from s series ?
Never tried a note before.
iPhone X user here for over 4 months, I'm in love with iOS and I think Apple nailed this one. Despite media trying to push it down, I haven't personally found any problems with it except accidentally taking screenshots due to the buttons positioning whilst holding the phone.

Lots of different Android users I see here, I'm actually quite happy that this thread is indeed diverse in terms of phone users. (Unlike the usual iPhone vs Samsung scheme here in Lebanon)

iPhone X is great, but too small IMO. When they release a Plus version I'll be all over it.

The pen is quite handy. Using it more than I thought I would. The screen off memo feature is really amazing and I use it daily. The 100$ difference for S Pen and dual cameras is worth it. However don't forget that S8+ has larger battery...
Pixel 2 xl. Just flashed android 9 developper preview.

As a note user, I am so jealous right now. How is the battery life? (Pre-flashing)

Have been using a Nexus 6 for the past 3 years. It's been pretty great, but it's approaching the end of its lifetime. Battery barely lasts 3 hours of on-screen time and the camera takes pictures 2/5 times tried. It's also slowed down a bit and lags a lot now.
Was considering buying a OP5T but they seem to have sold out. Any ideas where I can get one? I'll probably end up waiting for the OP6 to launch though.
LG G2 bought on the recommendation of someone on this forum, and I still like it. It's like 5 years old but I think it is still usable for a couple of years, it's not exactly a weak/slow phone (although getting a little old).
Anyway the sad thing is I fell down a couple of days ago while jogging, because I was running in the dark and someone had done some construction work on the sidewalk and left it with protruding tiles and what not, and I tripped. This phone is pretty resistant and fell many times but this time it seems I fell on top of it, the glass cracked. I also scorched my knees.
I tried to separate the digitizer from the lcd and evidently I cracked the LCD.
So do you know where I can get a replacement part here? I would prefer to do the replacement myself but I need the part.

OMG.

I'm gonna try to fix my phone, I kind of like it and I prefer not to produce garbage. Electronics are not recycled in this country, when you throw something away it doesn't magically disappear from this planet, it just ends up in a nice landfill somewhere.

I finally gave up on my Note 4 this January (Medal of Honour: December 2014 - January 2018), and got a Note 8. I've always been a fan of the notes, had a Note 3 before them (Still used by my little sister, resilient phone that won't die).

Hopefully, won't be buying any new phone for at least 2 years. And hopefully, Samsung won't downgrade the experience with their silly sudden concept changes that no one asks for. (Looking at you Samsung Note, screw you, you'll never replace S Note)

Buy a replacement screen off aliexpress, if you can find one. Doubt you'll find parts for this device in Lebanon.
