Salutations,

Anyone know a great laptop for gaming that sits in the $2,000 range and available in Lebanon? I'm willing to budge up to reach $2200. The idea is that I'm always on the go, so I'll take it along with me wherever I go and when I'm home I'll just buy a screen monitor and connect it via HDMI to the screen.
What games do you play? Or do you play a little of everything?
I like to get into PUBG, BattleField 1, Fortnite, League of Legends, CS GO, and Overwatch. Maybe I'll use it for streaming as well if I end up moving out of the country.
For 1600$-1700$ I got an HP-Omen 17 with 4K display and a GTX 1070, it probably for even cheaper now. If you’re interested, PM me.
All the games you mentioned except PUBG and bf1 run at like 300 fps on a 1050ti

And a that would still give you decent fps in bf1 and PUBG (no ultra settings ofc)

So you can look for a laptop with a 1050 ~ 1060. There's a lot of those

Or ofc you can consider Johnaudi's offer, it's not bad at all. Except that a 1070 can't really drive a 4k display in a lot of games, but should do fine in the games you mentioned. And playing at 1080p or 1440p on a 4k display will look horrible if I'm not wrong
@JohnAudi - Inboxed You

@vlatkozelka - Can you recommend some places where I can search for laptops with the 1050 ~ 1060 within my price range?

You can check this one, this just showed up in my feed.
Alienware 15R3
If you're willing to wait till mid March, I'll be able to get you one from Dubai. For 2200$ you'll easily get an MSI or Asus laptop with either 4K UHD display or a 120Hz display. Of course comes with Intel i7 7700HQ, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVME ssd + 1TB HDD or 512GB NVME SSD, and a GTX1070 8GB.
If you're not in such a hurry, the Volta series (2000s) is just around the corner.
I've had experience with several gaming laptops, I recommend you find one with 1080p not 4k. For one, it's a much better experience in terms of FPS, it's easier on the graphics card, and you don't need to swap resolutions every time you want to play a game. 4k screens tend to also use more battery from my experience. I'd recommend a high end laptop with a native resolution of 1920:1080.

Many people take price over build quality, honestly, build quality to me is the most important factor when it comes to laptops. I'm not an Apple guy, but I have to to admit, their build quality is impeccable, which means your keyboard doesnt' bend, your screen doesn't wobble, your laptop will last. Only two brands have come close to this.

1- Dell XPS 15
2- Razer Blade (I've had 3 of these)
@AVOlio - Thank you very much I will take that into consideration.

@MrClass - Thank you! I have close family residing there and they will be coming soon so I will stay on the lookout for Dubai retailers with offers, great idea.

@Mohammadk97 - Interesting. If I end up holding on for a while, I will think of that.

@dio - Ok 1080p well noted; will take those two laptops into consideration.

thanks guys

It's a good laptop, but again, I stress on build quality. I recommend going to youtube and watching every review you can, namely ones that focus on screen wobble, flexible keyboard bend, screen bend, longevity, build material (plastic or aluminum?), and so on.
For sure I will now Youtube from now on, actually canceled it off my list because of the build quality as you mentioned it doesn't seem ideal after watching a tech recview
I've seen the Legion, and you should too before buying it. You might want to pay 200$ more for something sturdier and better built, like those MSI and ASUS laptops. (Apple laptops do not have high build quality btw).

There is no perfect gaming laptop. You will have to chose one and accept its flaws.

I'd have to disagree, they have great build quality. Some of the best in fact.

what is the price of this laptop ?
Yes 1 concern I noticed when I saw this in Virgin Megastore. The keyboard key positioning and gap is weird. I don't know why Asus did this. Needs sometime to get used it. Personally I didn't feel comfortable typing on it. Even gaming would be a nuisance.

I recommend another Asus laptop or go with MSI or Alienware.
I owned the previous generation version of this laptop GL502VM. It’s great but I’d have to agree that the keyboard has very short travel and uncomfortable to type on over a long period of time. I don’t have any other complaints about it though.
Thank you for your feedback. I'll try to find one here first and get my hands on it before I purchase. It's at $1,960 at the moment.
