Hello fellow geeks, I am currently considering buying a new 1080p 144Hz gaming monitor and my budget is around 350$ max.
The thing is I currently only play Rainbow Six Siege online with my brother, it has been a while, my desktop is decent I think (i7 4790 - 8GB Kingston 2133 HZ - GTX780 3G) and I am able to pull a steady 120-140 fps all time with the game settings almost maxed out ... however, my monitor is an old cheap LG 20 inches and the resolution is 1440 x 900 (I know it is lame).
This past weekend I went to a new gaming lounge in Sodeco (Rush B) they have state of the art hardware (1080ti and AOC 240 Hz gaming monitors) and I was amazed by the quality / smoothness / performance / gameplay over there and unfortunately my home setup looks garbage in my eyes now.
So now I decided to buy a gaming monitor and here are my options (from pcandparts):
Benq Gaming XL2411 24″ $325.00 + vat
Samsung S25HG50FQM 25″ 1ms Gaming $307.00 + vat
LG 24GM79G-B 24″ $311.00 + vat
I am personally leaning toward the Samsung, since it looks cool, however, I am a bit concerned, all three monitors don't have G-Sync (which is expensive) they have AMD free sync which is not compatible with Nvidia cards as I read it everywhere.
I am not hard to please coming from 1440x900 60 hz I just want a smoother gameplay and better colors (of course I won't achieve what I have seen in the gaming lounge) but I just want your opinions if these monitors will give me some eye candy and improvement over what I had or I will run into new problems like stuttering/ input lag / free sync issues etc ...
PS: I dont mind running the monitor on 120 Hz since I dont achieve 144 fps all the time on my current setup.
