I was hoping if anyone can share their experience to applying for a tourist visa, I wanted to get an idea of the requirements and what to expect, how much money should be in the bank, what proofs do I need etc, Can my father show his own bank account to the embassy and claim he will take care of my tourist expense? ( I do have an account for myself but I am not sure if it will be enough)

There is already a thread on this.
Uh sorry actually the other one was about immigration, not tourism.
Ignore me please!

You will most likely need someone there who will write a letter inviting you.
Money will be around $10,000 in the bank account, your father can list his account. (I'm not sure if this number is accurate today)
You will need proof that you will return to Lebanon (continuing university, full time work)
That's pretty much it, other things are listing what you will do there, where will you stay, and so on.
Check the CIC website for more info.

@rolf, No worries.
Seems simple enough but how can i prove about my full time work if i don't have a contract with my employer?, i am employed but no contract.

the company writes an official letter stating you are an employee to the company since XX/XX/XXXX at a position of XX.
also new thing for Canadian Embassy, you book an online appointment, they don't accept walk-ins
Below is the PDF updated as of Nov 2017
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5859E.pdf
it is from this source
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp?countrySelect=LB#applications
which shows you what other requirements you need
and to add frosting to the cake, link to book your appointment

I got toursim couple of years ago, in 2015 or 2014, i did it all on the website. I doubt $10000 is the number you need for tourism, thats for immigration, as for tourism, it shouldn't be over $3000, probably even less.
If you will be staying with a relative or a friend, they have to fill an invitation letter and attach their canadian ID, there's a form for that, on what to write inside the invitation letter.
I remember it was very easy, i did it all online, then went to hamra and did the fingerprint and picture (forgot the name of the process), and then later went back again and gave them my passport, and then went there for a 3rd time to get my passport plus visa. I think you can send someone on your behalf to give them and get your passport. If you reach this step, make sure to take USD with you, last time they didn't accept LBP.

@Gamer, Thank you for the links, I am worried that they will not believe me without a contract from my employer as I don't have any ownership in Lebanon that will suggest I will return (no apartment, store, no car as I don't like driving)
@Hybrid, I will be staying with relatives, I have 3 relatives in two different city's, I will split my visit time between them, does this mean all relatives need to send an invitation card or just one of the three will do?
Thank you for guiding me!
