  • Steering Wheels - Modding Logitech G29

Hey,

I would like to modify my logitech G29 wheel to install a bigger rim, ending with something like this:

To do so, I need 2 things:

1-Adapter like this one:
https://www.3drap.it/product/adapter-mozzo-hub-logitech-g29-g920/

2- A typical wheel with standard connection like this:

So did anyone attempt this before?

Do you know if I need to order that adapter or I can find it anywhere in here?

Do you know where I can find such cheap standard wheels like the link above, in here?

Thanks.
Yes, I did experiment with this multiple times before. Not for the intention to modify my Logitech trusty steering wheel alone but to enhance my understanding into creating a dedicated solution. The picture below says it all

From Left to right

The black adapter with a hollow center is designed to accommodate my OSW steering wheel which uses a servo motor industrial shaft.
The next two aluminum on the left is made with different thickness to accommodate some of the DIY projects. These would be the base side of a button box similar to the custom steering wheel and button plate that you can see in the picture above.
The blue part is a quick release 3D printed mechanism made by me with the 70mm pattern found on most steering wheels and the holes are dynamic in case I needed to use smaller bolt diameter pattern. I created it with the intention to modify my Logitech with an F1 style steering wheel later dumped the project even though I have the F1 steering wheel to attach it to.(Picture below)

Leaving the heavyweight champion to last the Q1R quick release mechanism which I use on regular basis is a genius solution for DD wheels using some mountain bike rim QR mechanism coupled with a genius locking design.

NOTE: Using a larger diameter steering wheel on the tiny motor of your Logitech will wear it down considerably I suggest to choose the lightest steering wheel found at the car accessories stores with 70mm bolt pattern.
Thanks Shlagem for your reply! Much appreciated!
I'm now reconsidering my idea after your reply! Seems a bit risky and might ruin my wheel even more.
