AVOlio wroteHey guys
My gsd is almost 6 months old, and I'm still standing!!
Anyway she still has this annoying and irritating habit of eating her own feces.
When I catch her in the act, I'm doing my best to keep her away from it yelling No and feeling upset and she stops immediately
But the problem is when I don't catch her, it's only later that I see her stool and notice she's eaten part of it.
Im not always available to monitor her in this act.
Now there's thess pills that pet stores and vets are selling and claiming that it will make this habit stop.
Do you guys know anything about these, do they work, has someone tried them, or know someone who has?
Nope, not to my knowledge at least.
However, what i do suggest is using "time out" or some kind of punishment where you either keep her on leash for 10-20min without any contact with anyone (no eye contact, don't look at her, don't pamper her or anything) and show lots of disappointment like attitude.
The thing is you need to do it as soon as she does it and make a "scene" out of it so she realizes this is something unacceptable.
