Hello guys, i'm planning on buying a new cpu my old i5-3470 has serves his purpose well enough.. i intend to use the cpu for gaming of course (no streaming simultaneously or stuff like this) so what do you guys think is the best cpu between the 4? ryzen 7 1700 or 1700x or i7 7700 or 7700k ? i've heard currently intel has a slight advantage but for the future games are getting more optimized for several cores and ryzen drivers are getting more dedicated for gaming so not sure what to choose... (Budget is 550$ for CPU+Motherboard for it)
P.S: i won't be overclocking any one of those.

For a good future-proof build and for your budget go for the Ryzen 1700 + MSI B350 Tomahawk
They should equal around 510$ @ pcandparts or you can go for the 1700x for 50$ more.

Considering the 1700X doesn't have a cooler with it so i think it'll cost like 100$ more than 1700.. is it worth it ? i can get that 100$ if there is a good difference between the 1700 and 1700x.And i was thinking about buying this board Asus PRIME B350M-A from pcandparts a bit cheaper than the one you mentioned and i don't see any differences between the two, what do you think? and thanks for you input!

I had the same Q in mind. I'm currently looking for R5 1600 as I need to replace my z170 mb with an x370. the cost is identical to buying an i7 7700k + cooler. ( 1600 can be overclocked to 4 ghz without any issues) 7700k has overheating problems.
