  • Desktop workstation recommendation

Hello,

I'm looking into purchasing a desktop pc that will mainly be used to run REVIT and AutoCAD.
My knowledge in pc building is minimal but I am considering the following:
1) build based on ryzen 7 1700
2) rams minimum of 16gb
3) good graphic card but not expensive ( AUTODESK products dont really rely much on GPUs)
4) wherever i can skimp on cost without real performance sacrifice is welcomed.
5) SSD at least for OS and software

stores :
1) any shop in lebanon
2) memory related items from ali express if cost effective
3) UAE based GEARUP.me
4) any other suggestions are welcome

I am hoping to limit my costs as much as possible and have a good sytem to serve me for years to come.

Thanks for any help
I can help get you some parts from UAE for a tiny fee if interested. Gearup.me prices are bullshit. Can get cheaper prices in Al Ain center in Burdubai.

I can get you the cpu, ram, motherboard, ssd. I'm travelling to beirut next week.
Can you provide details on the parts and their prices plus your fees? ofciurse i still need to have the build configuration finalized so if you can help with that it would be great too
Will check the prices for you tomorrow when the market is open.

Regarding the list of parts I recommend the following:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (can be overclocked to reach 1800x like performance)
- RAM: 32GB or 64GB DDR4 2400 kit
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime X370-Pro AMD Ryzen AM4 (very reliable and relatively cheap board compared to the other gaming boards. No need for an ROG series board)
- GPU: get from lebanon, they are all cheaper. some render engines do use GPU instead of CPU rendering like OctaneRender https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/
- SSD: Definitely an NVME PCI SSD such as the Samsung 960 Evo 512GB
- PSU: get from lebanon Corsair platinum rated PSU
- case: midtower with front, bottom, back, top ventilation (intake from front and bottom, exhaust top and back)
- CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i or similar factory water cooling loops
-
AMD Ryzen 1700 = 330$
AMD Ryzen 1700x = 400$

Asus Prime X370-Pro = 165$ (but many negative reviews 3/5)
ASUS ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING = 220$ (good reviews)

Corsair 32GB (8GB x 4) 2666MHZ = 360$
Corsair 32GB (16GB x2) 2400MHZ built for Ryzen = 330$
Gskill 32GB RGB (8GB x 4) 3000MHZ = 450$

Samsung NVME SSD 960 Evo 500GB = 280$

Corsair H100i Cooler = 130$ - might not be compatible with AM4
CoolerMaster Master Liquid 240 All in one = 195$ - AM4 compatible

Let me know if you are interested in getting any. I'll take 10% fee for the handling
