I still haven't got the speed upgrade since I was on the 2Mpbs unlimited plan, so waiting till August 1 till I get switched to open speed 200GB.
While waiting for the upgrade, I was wondering whether the 13 Mbps my line could handle would eliminate the ping spikes I get when someone else is using the internet. Bunch of research later I stumbled on this website
https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/, which says that bufferbloat can easily be fixed through proper QOS.
I booted up my old router running DD-WRT and messed around with the options to no avail. No improvement whatsoever to the ping spikes.
Can someone shed some light on this?
