  • Is CNAM considered a good university?

I originally wanted to go do engineering in Roumieh but i found ou they have no Computer engineering and i cant afford other universities.
So my only options are CNAM (genie informatique) or to go to UL and do computer science.
Is CNAM shunned by employers or is it considered at the same level as other universities?
Well, the French Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam) is extremely well reputed in France, as it is one of the "grande école (elite French uni)". However in all honesty, i had no idea that they had a Lebanese branch, which is not really a good thing.
So i guess the question is : will you degree be issued from the French university or the lebanese branch? If it is the lebanese one, is it recognised internationally?

If not, im not sure that it has any value
Hello Georges. I'm a third year CE student at CNAM.
As you may have known by now, you are required to have a daytime job in your field in order to graduate from CNAM. At graduation, you are required to write a report about what you've done which accounts for one third of your credit. You are required to work for at least 2 years (which means at least since year 2). If you currently have a job in a different field (at least 3 years), you will instead be required to do a 6 months internship in your field.

CNAM definitely helps you find a job. And if you're a smartass, you'll be getting recommendations from your doctors.

One downside to this pre-graduation employment is that some employers know that CNAM students need a job and hence make profit off of them, so make sure you find an acceptable job (don't aim too high though).

After you graduate with at least 2 years of real world experience, you will be at an advantage.

Licence: 3 years. (2 years experience)
Masters: 2 years + 1 year for mémoire. (4 years experience)

One of my friend at CNAM Beirut is currently employed while he's still not graduated. A Balamand graduate is working "under his hand".

Your file is sent over to France where it is examined. It is issued directly from France.

It's usually much after other universities, so you have time. Cnam costs around 700 thousand to 1 million pounds per semester.

Edit: it's double those values. 1,400,000 to 2,000,000

Excuse me I didn't check the payments correctly. I actually had 2 payments each semester. So it's the double the amount I mentioned.
Hello, I just finished first year in CNAM (informatique). There is no english courses in Nahr Ibrahim branch but there is in other branches.
I payed 2,250,000LL (50,000 per credit) in total for both semesters (full credits and without extra english and french courses because I scored good in placement tests). Also, they recently published an announcement concerning new students. Here it is, in arabic:

الحائزين على شهادات جامعية) اضافة الى توصيف الـمـواد من الجامعة .
- صـورة عـن الـهوية او صورة مصدّقة طبق الاصل عن اخراج القيد او
نموذج رقم 2 لموظفي السلك العسكري
- السيرة الذاتية باللغة الفرنسية
- اوراق الضمان الاجتماعي او تعاونية موظفي الدولة او صورة عن البطاقة
الصحية لابناء موظفي السلك العسكري
- صورتان شمسيتان مصدقتان من مختار المحلة
- افادة عمل اذا وجدت
