so as the title says, what do you expect will happen in the coming months/years? will hdr stick? will monitors all become 144hz or even more as standard? what about oled with its 0.1ms response time and deep blacks, will it become the new TN for gaming? will the pro scene adopt 4k as standard? will we even have monitors? or will everything become vr/ar?

VR / AR has potential but still limited customer base , I think in the future monitors will still evolve since simply they are generating profits and come in line with TVs evolution in led/oled panels.
HDR will be a increasing trend in the upcoming years , quantum dot displays ,high brigtness , low blacks , much more wider color gamut are making things more immersive. More developers are adopting that in.addition to movies etc.. HDMI 2.0 will adpot variable HDR. I personally expereinced HDR , it will not a fading tech and it will implemented and evolve more.
Increasing resolution will always exist as graphic cards will evolve and become more powerful. Dell released a current 8k monitor for editing purposed still way ahead to tip gaming. Still 2160p will have a good time ahead. 3440 × 1440p 21:9 34 inche monitors are increasing in trend too , I guess 2160p for a 27 inch monitor is a bit overkill.
