Dear all,
My house in the Jabal region is almost complete and due to its duplex nature, there is a lot of dispersed area between the rooms. On the bottom floor, I have DSL "2" Mbs by IDM. It's OK, as per say Elissa, when I run CS GO using wireless connection, my ping is ~300MS, but using Ethernet I hit 99ms ping today, I am fine with that.
I want to put another DSL line upstairs, but for that I have to order another phone line from Ogero. I heard some rumors I hope you can clear up. Somebody told me if you have two lines coming out of one box "3elbet el telephone", it will hurt your DSL connection. Given my non tech nature, I don't know if this is true. Moreover, if you were in my place, would you try another DSL provider? My terranet connection here in Beirut is beautiful, around 60ms ping and a pure 4mb speed (using wireless connection), but up there I don't know how it will react.
Thanks.

It depends how cabling are done. If not well, yes, they will interfere with each other.

Well I can tell you that my house is far away from the co. I have 2 dsl lines passing threw one cat6 cable :) when I ordered the second one I didn't lose a thing ( same SNR).
Note that the SNR differs between ISPs.

It is probably a bit late now, but with a little planning, there would have been another more elegant solution. A friend of mine was getting his house built and he noticed that there would be no way that he could get an internet connection throughout the house, so he had them set up CAT cabling throughout the house and just about every room has an ethernet jack. He carved space out of a storage area and used to put his modem and a couple of switches a UPS and lots of ventilation. Also worth noting, is that all the coax cables come in from the satellite dishes and the connections are also distributed in a similar fashion.
Bottom line--no extra wires around the house and everything is neat and tidy. Of course, doing this after the fact will be much more costly and messy, but still can be done if needed.
