Dear all,
Facing major ping issues with IDM. I called them and asked them to put me in their gaming pool, they said they want to try an alternate configuration and I had to install some software and connect via ethernet and allow them access into my pc through remote control. I postponed it to ask, is that safe? I have lots of private files on my laptop and personal information. Should I let them?

Some software? I think it is safe in case a known software is used like Teamviewer randomly generated credentials on start.
As for gaming pool I'm curious to know what will happen because I'm an IDM user and requested to be on a Gaming Pool, after several calls and several follow ups and when they said that they did activate it on my subscription I did not notice any improvement to my 140 ms delay to Ubisoft servers

Akh I forgot its name. Anyway I wont let them I just have too much on this pc and lots of liabilities which are not mine. We ended up closing lines on a conflict. Anayman in Beirut I use Terranet 4Mb package and my ping to ubisoft is 60ms try them

I wish I can switch and try all the ISPs and choose the best, but sadly changing the ISP will result in a downtime waiting the installation of the new ISP which I cant afford, I live in a village next to Tripoli in the north so my choices are limited, add to that my apartment is like 1.5KM away from the communication point, currently 10mbps (8mbps) is the max what my line can handle, I'm on 4mbps and the only reason that I kept using IDM is the unlimited night (11pm to 7am) option for 3$ extra

@jad594 It's safe as long as you are watching what they are doing.
@anayman_k7 Terranet offers the unlimited night for free.
