I have been following the exclusive info release on Digital Foundry concerning MS upcoming Console which I consider it has some potential to t be 1st console running 2160p natively.
- 6 Tflops of Raw Computational Power
- That memory is divided up into 12 GB chips, each of which sports a 32-bit interface to create a 384-bit bandwidth (actually higher than GTX 1080 memory bandwidth (320 GB/Sec) - the boost in memory bandwidth helps in native 2160p.
-Froza 3 demonstration actually tipped 2160/60 fps on PC Very High Setting Equivalence.
-It supports HDMI 2.1 / Variable HDR / Free Sync .. ( The Nvidia Titan XP has hdmi 2.0b) , but here is the deal all current 2017 TVs even the high end like the Samsung QLED Q7F has HDMI 2.0 input , and there is a leap in specification between 2.0 and 2.1 especially in the HDR area , all next PC monitors , volta & vega , and tvs will support HDMI 2.1) which makes Scorpio a TV indirect investment too as Playstation did with the PRO & 2160p output. The addition of Free Sync too adds to the console experience , and a major shift in tge Consoles world.
- High End PC Gaming will always have the upper hand , but you pay more you get more. HDMI 2.1 in PCs will make it enter the new league of 8k/60 fps master race which upcoming consoles will lag. But overall , Scorpio has a potential.
