hassansaleh31 Hello lebgeeks, It's been a while since i posted here but i have a huge problem that i need tour help with. I orderd a budget gaming pc from pcandparts for my friend and I told them that I don't want it assembled so they were kind enough to tell me that the bios must be updated to support the new cpu and they asked me if I wanted them to update it before shipping it to me. So i received all the parts, assembled them and turned on the rig but it won't post. I contacted pcandparts and they just told me that they might have forgot to update the bios due to workload. The cpu socket is lga 1151 and I don't have a compatible cpu to start it and flash the bios. What should I do now? I don't think I'm willing to send it back to them. Is my only option searching for a cpu that is compatible and borrowing it? anayman_k7 Hey, you can't do anything without a Skylake CPU to boot it and flash the BIOS, from what you mentioned, if you really told them to update the BIOS and you have that in the email just don't be shy and tell them that you dont think you should be held responsible and they should take care of shipping cost for the board, another option that I'm not sure if its valid that you call them on set a meeting tomorrow and go to their warehouse, this way you save time and they can easily just update the BIOS in matter of minutes.
hassansaleh31 They accepted to pickup the board and cpu free of charge update it and return it free of charge.
anayman_k7 Great news, it will take them few days but better to have something guaranteed to work and still under warranty, I bricked my board once flashing BIOS using MSI Live Update software, I sent them back the CPU/RAM/Mobo and they managed to flash back a new BIOS, I only paid the shipping cost which was 8$ total, cheap price for fixing a 200$ board lol
sayedti i had the msi b150 gaming pro , it died so i ordered a z270 a pro , my cpu is 6500 i5 it worked on the kabylake board without a problem and i didnt need to update bios . and when i received the board it was new the package wasnt opened before so bios was not updated .

He was trying to boot with Kabylake CPU which is not supported out of box for units that were shipped to local sellers before the release of Kabylake

He'd have to pay like 40$ more for a 2xx serie board.
hassansaleh31 Georges00 wrote He'd have to pay like 40$ more for a 2xx serie board. you're right but the build was for my friend, he had a very tight budget and needed to squeeze in a gtx 960 so i had to order that board. Anyways the board is updated now and it's up and running.
