I am getting bored of my watch and I am planning either buying another one or making a leap of faith and get a smart watch, I really like the Moto 360 2015 model, but I wonder if the LCD screen is as black as it should be? Because I keep seeing youtube videos with the android wear menu in grey instead of black on that watch?

The android wear menu is grey as far as I know and not black!
When activating the always ON mode, it was quite dim and black! Not Amoled black but still acceptable!
I had the MOTO 360 v1 and I liked it a lot! It's a bit slow and laggy, the v2 is much better! But i completely dropped the idea because I had to treat it like a smartphone and charge it daily/every night!
This is not what I'm looking forward to, as I already have many devices to worry about each night, and I don't need a watch to give me that headache too!
Overall I like the idea/concept a lot and still waiting for a smartwatch (not like the pebble) that has a battery of at least 3 days under normal usage!

You are right, it will not be easy to pass from a watch that can last days with 10 seconds of rewiring (automatic) to a 1-2 days battery life.
I also saw a youtube video showing a small lag on the v2 when you tilt to wake the screen, I think it will annoy me.
The Moto 360 2015 is the only model I liked so far, Fossil Q Marshal is close enough but the LCD is worse given the reviews.
Perhaps it's better to wait and see what Google will do this year, it's said they are preparing 2 models
