  • Learning to read and write arabic

Hey guys,

I have a friend who speaks perfect arabic but cannot read or write. He called the top insitutions in Lebanon for tutoring and they sais that reading and writing does not usually occur in groups so he must get a private tutor from them. This is expensive (minimum of $23 per hour). What are his other options?

Thanks

If your friend is religious, I'm pretty sure there are churches and mosques that teach the scripture (reading and writing) for children, most are free of charge (as a muslim I can recommend Ibad Al Rahman). that's a great way to start aside from getting school books for middle school children.
