  • 2015 macbook pro retina 13" review

hello guys,

I need help concerning the 2015 macbook pro retina 13" core i5 8GB ram 128 PCle-based flash storage.
  1. Does anyone has it ? (please review it)
  2. I am 16-year-old and looking to invest in a good laptop for uni ( i will be majoring CS ) + i am going to learn swift and apple apps developing. So i guess i should go with an OS-X.
  3. If i decided to buy it in the summer ( because i have to work in summer to cover the price ) should i buy it from lebanon ( if yes, please specify the best recommended store(s) ) or should i buy it from the U.S. ( apple, amazon, ebay...) and ship it using ( Borderlinx, aramex, DHL.. *please specify the best too*)
P.S: if anyone checked the price recently please tell us.

I have it, been using it for little less than a year.
Performance wise it's pretty fast, and stable. the OS animation is little laggy sometimes, i guess the build in vga isn't strong enough to handle the retina display.

I use it for for web development, 8gb ram seems to be enough for me, but i haven't tried swift programming on it, so i don't know how much ram xcode eats up, probably much more than the few terminal, a text editor and a browser that i keep running.
If you are planning to do any gaming forget about it, it doesn't have dedicated vga, unless it's a 2d game or something.

if i remember correctly i got it for 1400$ from pcandparts.

all in all it's an ok laptop, and i don't think you have many choices if you are planning to do apple apps development. the newer laptops seems to be too expensive, apple bumped the price up by 300$ on the latest models. they are probably little faster, but i doubt you will gain much more than what you get from an earlier model.

you will also need to have an external drive, otherwise the 128gb is not enough to store all you media files. but 128gb is enough for me, since i keep my movies on an external and install my games on windows desktop.

the touchpad is REALLY good.
the keyboard is ok, nothing to make a fuss about (in my experience at least).
