Shaun
I want to have the following setup:
Dsl modem <ethernet> tplink WR740N router <WDS bridge over wifi 2.4ghz> trendnet AC1900 <wifi+ethernet> devices.
The idea is quite simple, I want all devices connected to a capable router, while that router gets its internet access through an essentially glorified antenna.
I could not get the Trendnet router to make a WDS bridge with the tplink router, but I did manage to make the tplink router bridge to the trendnet one, so that now the system is made of a very expensive glorified antenna, while the devices connect to a flimsy router.
At first I thought that the WDS non standardness was the issue, but clearly the tplink managed to connect to the trendnet router without any fuss, so I am now assuming I made some mistake withe the trendnet setup. The problem is I was very careful yet it would not work and I am not sure how to fix it, anybody with some experience with this can be of help?
