Ah, the age old "technology will take our jobs" argument. Technology tends to replace the jobs that no one wants to do. I agree that we need to support the transition of people losing their jobs and help them stay relevant in the workforce. I disagree that we need to subject people to jobs they hate just for them to have something to do.
Next time you're dealing with government bureaucracy and feel frustrated, remember this thread. How many people are hanging around not doing much more than what an excel sheet can handle? This inefficiency is passed down onto you when you have to skip a work day to go to the ministry of X or Y and go through a half marathon before your paper reaches the right person.
