for a 4k you need a gtx 1080... forget that. Plus TVs have very high latency, means sometimes your input and visual display wont sync, yeene shii bi kharre
Totally wrong build a setup and test and do not give canned "sterotypes" , I have a 1070 OC Linked to a 4K HDR TV (Gaming Mode approximately 20ms for 2160p 60Hz + HDR (which increased the input lag due to more processing). Very playable for Campaigns , Single Player etc.. and input lags <10ms matters in high intense FPS shooters in multiplayer modes. 1070 is capable for 2160p for High Details - no AA on majority for titles tipping 40-50 fps. The 1080 can tip 60 fps using the same graphic settings , but do not expect 60 fps with ultra + aa on both setups.
So i'm not "totally wrong"... You said you get 20ms input lag in your tv's gaming mode and then said yourself you need <10ms to play FPS games, which is what some people (like me) play most. So while it might now matter much to you, it does to me.. and btw i tried gaming on a large tv, im not speaking based off stereotypes. It really was unplayable for me
I have a 6ms monitor and a 20ms TV input lag, playing the same game on either with no difference, anything under 40ms is playable, people outside Lebanon believe anything more than 20ms is slow because they take into account the internet latency to play online, here in Lebanon playing online is anyway with huge latencies
