Hey guys,
Been looking at the mate 9 and looks pretty good, reviews are overall positive and i feel like a change from the usual options...
Can u recommend decent shops that sell huawei? I'm also curious if you've seen the mate around.
It's just been released so wait a few weeks and it should start arriving here and there
13 days later
I gotta admit that I am super intrigued about this phone and its price in here!
Such a monster phone for less than 550$! I am thinking about it...
It's available now for 500$ at Amhaz. The price is incredible for what this phone does. But EMUI is such junk I can't think about this.

Just get another launcher
Ended up getting it last week, but returned it as it had issues with the touchscreen.
Im now waiting for a replacement, hope it gets fixed as the phone is really fast and feels smoother then my current S7 Edge...
For the price can't go wrong

Waiting for your replacement man! Please keep us posted!
This will a critical matter to see how the company deals with some real-world issues!

So far seems like either the supplier or the dealership is playing around, i'm gonna keep following up till I get to the bottom of the story.
I even considered paying a "small fee" to exchange it with a sealed unit. But i'm worried the issue will still be there as I saw similar complaints on forums....

I called again today and was promised a working unit this afternoon...
I'll keep u posted on results ofc
I have nougat on my mate 8 and its faster than an S7 edge already. I can only imagine how better the mate 9 is. EMUI 5.0 now the has option to include an app drawer (which was its problem in earlier versions)

Official nougat on mate 8?! Or a port? Or maybe CM?!
The mate 8 was already the fastest android phone until maybe the OP3/OP3T dethroned it! But I guess the mate 9 will reclaim that title!

The app drawer isn't really the problem, that can be easily fixed with another launcher. I had a friend with a Mate 7 who would always miss notifications because of the phone's extremely aggressive battery saving mode. Sometimes it dozes apps which should be refreshing in the background. Not to mention the endless amounts of bloat included. And the overall iOS feel of the skin (something I wouldn't want on Android because if I want iOS I just use iOS......)

I had the mate 9 with me for 2-3 days before returning it, and it felt very smooth.
I didnt face a notification issue, but i can't conclude as it wasn't yet my daily driver.
Bloat is kept to a strict minimum in the MEA version, only a few apps you can count as bloatware, and some can be uninstalled. It has alot less bloat then a samsung flagship that has hundreds of processes running out of the box.

I'll be able to answer more concerns if I get a properly working unit, I plan on using it at least till new flagships come out in early 2017 :)

this issue is easy to solve by just modifying few settings, no?

It happened without having the battery saving activated. The phone has a builtin feature to save battery without having that activated that screwed up the notifications. I don't know if it's an issue with all Huawei devices however it certainly did happen on the Mate 7.

Yeah, stuff like that. Honestly, the very reason I switched permanently to iOS is always always always having to tinker with my Android device to get it to work properly. Like this case as simple as getting Notifications !!! EMUI is just a headache. But this phone for 500$ is hard to pass on.

I think this issue has been completely fixed recently.
My friend has a P9 and it's working fine without any tinkering and notifications arrive instantly!
