  • zotac GTX 1070 memory clock stuck at 810Mhz

Hello,

I just bought the zotac gtx 1070 amp extreme from pcandparts and ran FurMark to see how it would do.
Apparently the memory clock is stuck at 810Mhz, and the GPU usage only hit a max of 29.10%
I tried reinstalling the drivers, setting the power management mode to prefer maximum performance, but neither worked.
Any help? :c

here's a pic of furmark running

I think I should mention some specs:
8Gb ddr3 hyperX memory
I7 4770K @4.3Ghz
Cooler Master V750 PSU
there is an issue with the new drivers. uninstall properly then install an older driver
I also just tried to reseat the GPU, but it didn't fix the problem

we are talking about the version 375.86 right?
I think you are mistaken, first of all do not use Furmark to stress test, it could damage your hardware because it run a rare scenario that makes the GPU draw a huge amount of power which put a huge stress on the VRM.
As for the result, Furmark is not stressing the memory thats why the frequency is that low, the GPU core usage is 100% so it is running fine, test some games, it will be easy to tell if the video card is giving the gtx1070 peformance or download some benchmark softwares like Heaven or 3DMark

I ran overwatch on the second highest setting (ultra, highest setting is called epic, but anyway) you would expect the 1070 to just blast out 100fps+ but I only got 45fps average. Which is mediocre for a 1070.
And I am running it on a 1080p panel, not 4k or anything, so yeah.

Ok then, thank god I didn't upgrade my drivers, I have a GTX 1060
I did some research about the issue, the suggested method to revert back to older driver version is:
Download Older Driver version
Download DDU
Unzip it
run it
Choose "Safe Mode" launch option
hit Launch
after reboot into safe mode, choose "Uninstall and reboot"

I did that, the issue is now fixed, it's now running nice and smooth
