It is been like two years since I wanted to change the regular/old phone cable and replace it with a Cat6 to improve the SNR on my line. The main reason why I didn't do it yet, other than aesthetics, is the transition to fiber. Well, that is if we get it by the end of 2017 as promised. I know that there is a strong chance for the usual delays, but we might REALLY have fiber by the scheduled date.
Is it worthy at this time? all that hassle might be in vain. According to how they're going to execute it, fiber cables will run from poles directly to houses, which will render copper cables completely useless.
