What do you think of the New PlayStation VR for USD 400 (the whole package) , it is not resilient and immersive as HTC Vive sure , but from the reviews on Gamepsot , IGN , Digital Foundry it tackled the VR experience for its price , still upcoming AAA titles such as Resident Evil VR will prove it fullest potential. Personally , I think Sony created an attractive budget experience for a lot of gamers in the gaming ecosystem (especially the upcoming PS4 Pro which will elevate this experience ) , it a baseline experience with a good price compared to a high end gaming rig and an expensive VR experience like HTC Vive that is out of reach for many in the gaming ecosystem.
and at the same time, sony has showed that it underplayed the market by releasing a weak ps4 and it's trying now to salvage the decreasing console base.

You still need a PS camera for it to work, not included in the 400$. Also for the whole experience, you need the move controllers, also not included. So that 400$ is a bit misleading.
Also I suggest that you look more into the problems that mainstream media cannot mention, like spotty tracking and occlusion problems to a smaller extent on the headset and to a big extent on the 6 year old ps move controllers. Also the increased pixel swim and the jitter. So make sure what you are buying into. Given your high spec pc, I suggest you purchase an oculus since it's offering a similar experience (sitting standing 180 experience, single camera or dual camera with touch controllers, tracking is so much robust than poor, Facebook backed development).
I myself sent with a vive but that is a bigger commitment with roomscale gaming.
I already jumped the gun and placed a pre-order, it should arrive this week "hopefully".
I don't think I'll ever get into VR. At least in its current state.

I have a huge problem with motion sickness and just reading a book while in the car makes queazy and nauseous. I would think that playing games with VR would not be a good idea for me. In addition, I have heard reports that it is mentally taxing on the brain. Gaming for me is a time of leisure and having my mind overthinking and be mentally exhausted after a short period is not my idea of "fun". And thats not mentioning the time and money commitment you have to make for these extra equipment and setups. And to tell you the truth, I'd rather spend that money on a PS4 Pro instead of PSVR. And currently, my PS4 is giving me more than enough bangs for my bucks.

If and when you guys get your hands on one, let us know what you think about it.
