user I'm rocking an i5 3570 with my gtx 1070, and all is well. Your cpu will definitely not be a bottleneck.
AVOlio I'm running an i7 2600 non k lol, and I don't think it's bottlenecking the sli 980 what so ever.
anayman_k7 Well the question is, how to know if the CPU is bottlenecking your GPU? You need to find a review for the same GPU model (or sli setup) with a more powerful CPU and see the result of a bench or a game that is more GPU focused, you need to have this game or bench on your system to be able to run it and compare the numbers. As for a heavy bottlenecking it can be easily been detected while gaming, example: I used to play BF4 on my old core2quad + gtx760 system, the game was barely running 60fps on low settings, having MSI afterburner running in background I found out that the gpu usage was hovering around 30%!!! After updating to i5 4460 it completely changed and GPU has a 100% usage while playing the same game with much better FPS on higher graphic settings.
