Hi. I've been using nvidia for like 15 years now (was a 3dfx user in the 90s).
I am looking for AMD graphics card. I want something within the same performance level as the nvidia 750GT.
Any recommendations or stores that have those?
The reason is that there is a bug in nvidia driver that I have contacted nvidia about and they have developed a test case to reproduce my bug. But if this is not fixed in two weeks, I want a backup place, hence AMD.
Currently in the Lebanese market the latest AMD graphic card series are not available, but as far as I can read and with a little of assumption, you want something in the low end, similar to GTX 750, correct?
I looked mainly at pcandparts, they have only 1 option which is this:
Asus Radeon R7 360 R7360-OC-2GD5 2GB DDR5 Link $161.00 (Price without TVA)

In a simple comparison, the R7 360 is 40% faster than a GTX 750,

As a personal recommendation, if your usage is for gaming, for the current market offering, with the R7 360 cost (160$) you can buy a much better Nvidia card, like:
- Zotac ZT-90601-10L GeForce GTX 950 2GB DDR5 Link Now in stock $149.00
This card (using the same comparison site) is 30% faster than R7 360, and 10$ cheaper

- Zotac ZT-90310-10M GeForce GTX 960 2GB DDR5 Link Now in stock $171.00
Also this card is 53% faster, 10$ more than the R7 360 but a very nice price/performance package
I don't regularly play games, much too old for that. My hands and eye sight are not what they used to be 15 years ago. If I do play a game, it is usually point and click where I don't need quick reactions :)

Thanks for the recommendation. I am done with NVIDIA. My current card is the last NVIDIA card I will even touch.

I'll go for the AMD card. They work in the open and the driver is open source.

Although I reject your notion of being too old for games, I'm glad you switched from the Dark Side.
Talking about the dark side, I just got the Zotac 1060 AMP 6GB to replace the Gigabyte GTX780 OC Windforce, which replaced the MSI R9 380 Gaming 2GB, which replaced the MSI GTX760 Gaming 2GB

Welcome to the 'I wanted to get a 480 but Lebanon made me get a Zotac 1060' club.

380 to 780? That's barely an upgrade, IIRC the 280X js about equal to the 780 in most new games.
i would have suggested the new RX460. About 50% more powerful than GT750, for $110. and runs pretty cool with only 75W TDP. there are passive only cooling for this card. the only downside it's not available here.
so no one is wondering what bug is he facing with what application?
MrClass, I left that out because I'm not sure if anyone apart from the older lebgeeks members (joe, nuclearcat, etc..) will understand the bug.
Interaction with libxrandr broke in 370.xx driver on Linux.
364.xx driver still works.
I can't debug since the driver is closed source.
right now i have a 630GT pcie-2.0 on a pcie-1.1 board. backwards compatible.
will pcie-3.0 cards work on a pcie-1.1 board?

I have a powerful psu and an even more powerful ups.
Yes, the PCIE 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIE 1.1
Ok, I bought 730GT MSI with 5000Mhz memory clock and 384cuda cores (kepler architecture according to wikipedia).
And guess what? Same bug.
I must send Richard Stallman after Nvidia now :)
