  • Anyone knows if i can pay someone to quickly install my DSL line?

Hello guys,

i am subscribing with sodetel for a dsl internet, anyone knows a way to install it faster?
off topic a bit. i have heard horror stories about sodetel.
Cancel it right now and go for Ogero unlimited.

It's worth waiting 5 months or more for Ogero than 1 week for sodetel.
actually this is my second subscription with sodetel and i am satisfied with it. Can't have unlimited seeking 4mbps speed.
Of course you can, the hard part is knowing someone! With money everything will go faster in Lebanon. You just an inside man to help you. Unfortunately I don't know anyone.
Sodetel subscriber here.

Run... while there's still time!!
it depends on region
if he's close to a sodetel central he's good

Why it isn't that horrible for me.
Sodetel is fine for me too. The last time I had a horrible greater than 300 latency was two years ago. Of course don't expect full speed during the unmetered night quota but it's far from horrible.

because all their customers left ,
i still remember the words of the Sodetel Operator when i told her that the ping to google is 300ms : Sir, if the ping is under 500, it is normal, it is still under the average....
Yeah I remember that too, luckily I wasn't into online gaming at the time lol. Anyway, it's up to OP.
can you state why we should avoid sodetel? am a subscriber since 3 years to the 1.5mbps unlimited bundle. recently cutoffs were occuring every other day for long hours but now they fixed it. as for speed, highest i can reach on my torrents is about +-100 kb/s.

Can i move to ogero and have a higher speed while staying on a bundle that offers unlimited download/upload at a reasonable price?
Sodetel user here, latency is always 500ms and above. Sometimes i do get 80ms on weekends and around midnight but that's really rare.
My location is Jdeideh and Close to the central. So yeah it sucks, avoid it like the plague. Im not sure if other providers have the same problem but im really sure that ogero have way better latency even during peak hours.

Edit : not to go off-topic, I dont think theres a way to install it faster, you have to wait for their technician to come over and configure the modem they will give you.

Ogero 2mbps TRUE unlimited (no FUP) is 50$.
Torrents speed reach my max speed.
No downtime.
OP, the delay is not from sodetel, Sodetel presents a file to Ogero to get the L Number, so actually the delay is from Ogero, even if your ISP is Sodetel, so if you need someone to help you, it would be from Ogero to obtain the LNumber faster.

actually i didnt have the choice. if i want to end my subscription with sodetel ill have to pay 50$(one year contract). Regardless, i am subscribing to a local cable provider who'll give me 4mb speed unlimited, and when the DSL is installed, which is 4Mb too, i will keep that for mobile phone usage. Later ill see how can i do some link aggregation to combine both speeds, meanwhile i have a software that with it i can link the download process to the network of my choice.
