I am considering getting a Huawei Mate 8 from Amhaz for 385. Screen size must be 5.7 or 6.0
I'm looking for a very snappy experience no lags no hitches. I don't care about mobile gaming.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you
The MATE 8 is a great phone, but if you're willing to spend an extra 100$ id suggest getting the nexus 6P.
Huawei makes some great phones but their UI is really crap in my opinion. It's one of those "hate it or love it" kind of UIs.
As an alternative for the same price range I would suggest the LG V10.
I have the mate 8 since the beginning of the year and its a great phone with awesome battery life. i personally find the size a little too big to my liking but this depend on the user needs.
I got the Mate 8, and im loving it!

It's not just the UI. I got a G8 and the EMUI got me so mad . You wouldn't believe how slow it ran on a snapdragon 610 octacore !
I ended up flashing CyanogenMod 13 on it . Now it's as fast as my old Xperia Z2 (Snapdragon 805 - a beast this one) . But for 250$ .

Seriously the best thing you can do with huawei is buy a cheap one , and flash some custom ROM on it :p
Hey, before you buy the mate 8,there is one caveat that you should be aware of.

I've been using the mate 8 since Jan/Feb 2016 and it's really a stellar phone: excellent battery life, amazing screen colors, great connectivity, no slowdown even after 9 month etc... However push notifications don't always pop up (and that's a huge issue).

You can find a lot of threads abt it, mainly because of the overly aggressive battery manager (there's even an article in Forbes magazine detailing the issue! ).

For instance, I've white-listed whatsapp on everything : battery manager/ phone manager, background apps restrictions, priority push notifications, priority setting, background 4g access... and despite that, the phone still manages to miss some notifications.

One workaround i found was to install two apps delivering the same notifications (such as gmail and Inbox).

There is a major update coming supposedly in early October, rumored to address the issue.

Other than that, the phone is absolutely stellar, as mentioned above.
Also the UI is extremely user friendly, the knuckles shortcuts are really useful etc...

Hope This helps.

Side note : this is the most sturdy / resistant phone i have ever used, it keeps on being dropped, scratched, slaphed ect. And is still in mint condition.

Side note 2: get a popsocket (google it), you 'll then forget abt its size as it will be way easier to handle.
What about Huawei P9?
