Hello;

I have a question concerning gaming monitor.

First of all; I've been reading, searching and looking up about differences between 60Hz and 144Hz monitors for gaming and it always results in 2 parties. one that says that there's no major difference that's it worth changing, and the other that says it is a must get (144Hz monitor) for gaming.
Another point is that my regular ping in games is usually 100-150ms.

So, I would appreciate if any of who uses the 144Hz gaming monitors confirm to me that's it's really worth the upgrade and how much difference did it make to them.
And given my ping, does that make a huge difference in correlation with the response time of the 144Hz monitors.

TL;DR: Is it worth upgrading 60Hz monitor to a 144Hz one with mild high ping (100-150ms)?

Second point is, where I can find a good 144Hz gaming monitor (if it's worth the upgrade) in Lebanon with delivary across the country with some what reasonable price?

Recommendations (in any sort, store, upgrades, tips, ...etc) are most welcome.

On a side note, could anyone recommend gaming peripherals (Mouse, Keyboard, Headset) that is durable and worth getting/upgrading to?

Thanks for your responses in advance.
Asus PG279Q: 27-inch 1440p 144Hz IPS G-SYNC Monitor

A USD 1100 Monitor in Leb including VAT but it worth the investment. Typically on fps you will reach above 60fps but for future proofing it is sunh hz will be tipped , GSync will play a role on low frames between 35 - 45 adding smoothness also reducing stutter and lags. To me it worth regardless of your ping latency , sure high pings will add stutter but having high refresh rates will effect the over all smoothness in MPs FPS for example , if you want a monitor go also with at least 6-8 Mbps speed the ping will be dragged down to 20ms. But overall a monitor in all sides has a positive ROI.

For peripheral I personally went a mechanical keyboard (Corsair K70 LUX RGB MX Switches - Brown) & A Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum Mouse - My Decision based on many reviews / feedbacks / quality / reliability compared to Razor products.
Asus pg279q not available in leb , i searched everywhere , pg278q is available though
Thanks for your replies.

Concerning the ADSL speed, I can't upgrade at the moment because there's no unlimited plan for such speeds. (Unless there's favortitism I suppose)
(I really hope we hear in the near future some good news concerting the Telecommunication sector upgrades and such)

About the Monitor and the peripherals, could you PM me the contacts (website and such) of where I could get those stuff? And if there are other options to browse through.
I have the Asus PG278Q. I know many reported faults in this model. I bought mine used from a guy for 490$. Tried it. It sure is a beast performer. TN panel, but the best TN panel out there (and I didn't notice any major color changes when gaming; few when tilting on the sides). Mine is a golden pick; no dead pixels, no light bleeds (which actually happen more often with IPS panels), no issues.

144HZ is like cheating. I am performing much better in CSGO; seriously my headshot rate has improved. I like it.

Gsync doing it's job nicely with my GTX980.

144HZ on 144FPS is glorious; though I think it makes more sense when playing competitive games like CSGO and DOTA (LOL players go suck it; kidding)

If you have a GTX980 or above, then you'll enjoy the 2K resolution with 144FPS in 1 year old games. I only get max 100FPS with new games.

I do not recommend 1080P monitors on 27"; kinda looks like crap when you see 2K res fluid in action.

The price is for people NOT on a budget; if you are on a budget, stick around with 1080P and 24" (of course with Gsync and 144HZ)
My pg279q coming from ukraine in 5 september i got it arround 900+$ its one hell of a monitor like mrclass said , highly recommand it if u can aford it
Hey all, thanks for your replies.

Could you PM me where/how to get them from though?

Thanks
I got my Nixeus screen from massdrop.. it is a 199$ 1080p 144hz screen with a very good panel (arrived with no dead or bad pixels).. the delivery cost was about 80$ with lebanese tax and libanpost costs and it took them about a month to deliver.. the screen is highly recommended.

Pcandparts has an offer starting today Benq Gaming XL-2430T 24" Wide LED 144Hz Gaming Monitor for 409$ (441$ with TVA + 5$ shipping).. with a simple search the screen looks great
ManOwaRR wroteAsus pg279q not available in leb , i searched everywhere , pg278q is available though
it is available, I choose between it and the pg27aq. It is selling for about 960 or 940$ I cant remember. the official dealer is MEIT although he only sells to stores. so contact them and they will give you the location of the closest store to you. Mine was microcity hamra. Goodluck
Hey, surely you can notice a 144hz from a 60hz one, the screen tearing will be most likely gone if your fps is under the screen refresh rate, luckily for you a reasonable priced screen appeared today in pcandparts weekly special offer
Benq Gaming XL-2430T 24" Wide LED 144Hz Gaming Monitor For only $409.00 (without TVA)

there is a difference mr.junkrat :). whether that difference is worth paying all that money for, or if you are willing to pay for 1440p 144hz as much as 4k 60 fps gsync is up to you really. but there is a difference. In some games it is more useful than others, perhaps in cs:go most of all. In overwatch, the difference is there but is not as drastic as cs:go.. I suggest you try a 144hz monitor before making any decision. Spotnet has them, give them a shot. But if you are expecting them to affect ur K/D ratio and make you a god, then no they wont. Try them for yourself and judge, that is my advice. also ditch IDM for ogero and take that 50ms improvement in ping. don't want you to disconnect right before we take control of the objective again haha :P
also keep in mind if you are trying to maximize advantage, a 24 inch monitor is better than a 27inch one, as you will be able to see the entire screen and the minimap without shifting the focus of your eyes too much.
Thanks all for the replies, I will look into the options you all provided and see what happens.

Yeah IKR.

I'm kinda working on it. But I'm a bit hesitant because of the at least 1 month down time with no internet =/
i already asked the one available is pg278q and it cost 960$

i think you are speaking about this one , it's a tn panel , not a big difference between the two though, the other is ips

no they have the pg279q as well. I'm sure. microcity may not have it in stock immediately it will take a few hours to get it from MEIT

PG279Q vs PG278q = the price difference is minimal about USD 120 at most , always go with the newest version More HZ & IPS worth It + you will get a ROG Led Logo on the base stand.

My Friend has a shop (krayteem) & offered me the two models @

278Q $950 1 YEAR WARRANTY

279Q $1,040 1 YEAR WARRANTY

Here is A Comprehensive Review about the two models:

https://youtu.be/79r5rxS276Y

Although the Tn model has an input lag of 1ms vs 4ms on the IPS , the 279Q won ironically in input lag + response combined in real time testing.

Note: Double check & emphasis on the warranty issue since like Acer Predator XB271HU both panels are made by AU Optronics / Chances of Dead Pixels are frequent and reported & RMA is done on the number of Dead Pixels.

https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/HelpDesk_Warranty/

So Double check if they offer an official ASUS warranty from the distributor since they send a request to ASUS USA.
Well i didnt know it does exist in lebanon and its a bit late ,
But where does ur friend have shop in kraaitem , and can u pm me his number

Thanks
Tech Guru:hi , if ur friend still has the 29q model a friend of mine will buy it tomorrow if it has warranty and everything.

I'm getting the Benq Gaming XL2720Z 27" soon. I've seen it at my friends place and I absolutely loved it.

It's cheaper than the asus too, around $515.

I highly recommend it and it's title is just magnificent.
