Unlocking an HTC Bootloader comes with a warning message that it may void your warranty.
S-Off voids your warranty for sure.
HTC is just one of many manufacturers anyway.
Either compare Android as it is to iOS or just don't compare them at all. It's funny how no one ever compare rooted Android with jailbroken iOS.
Android was ported to the iPhone 3G a long time ago. You could dual boot iOS and Android. Technically, they have custom ROMs
So which phone do you have? You hate android and find apple superior but you don't own an iphone, you say iphone 3g had an android port, but you missed to say it was buggy as hell and the project stopped since then, I know what I am talking about because I had an iphone 3g.
About porting from an OS to another...well good you mentioned it, because you can install ios themes that will skin your UI to look like ios + you can use a launcher with ios theme = you get a very close to ios UI without even rooting, if you root you can just flash a MIUI rom and voila you have a ios clone. Personally I won't do it because I love HTC Sense UI.
You pretend using custom roms void warranty with android phones, I showed you the opposite because yes Android is an open OS used by several brands, HTC and Google Nexus/Pixels won't void your warranty if you unlock the bootloader whatever the message they give. When you buy a samsung, you know that it would void your warranty if you root, if you want to root then get another brand, problem solved.
Please buy an iphone if it makes you feel superior
