yea debating between the asus pg279q or the pg27aq. But frankly I'm having a hard time justifying paying the same for a 1440p monitor as I would for a 4k.Tech Guru wroteAsus ROG pg279q or Acer xb271hu ;)

I cant find the acer anywhere in lebanon. Do you know a place that has them?
the pg279q is available in lebanon for 950$ + vat with warranty...etc I have seen it a couple of times. but never running.Tech Guru wrotetiny fx wroteyea debating between the asus pg279q or the pg27aq. Neither the pg279q or the xb271hu are not available in Lebanon. Special order - I will ask Spot Net Hamra since he do special orders. But warranty is a major concern , dead pixels , stuck pixels, bleeding are all major concerns either out of the box or along the 1st year of usage. Well 2160p GSync 60 hz like the pg27aq is tempting frankly but still graphic cards didnot tip that level. Stcking with 1440p is more convenient. However if you are aiming to upgrade the graphic card each two years , the pg27aq 2160p 60 fps is a good investment now that has positive returns in the future.
When are you aiming to grab one and the 1080.
have you tried any of the 144hz monitors? if so which one?MrClass wroteMany don't value the frequency of the monitor. Similar on how 1080P gaming is a thing of the past, 60HZ frequency is pretty obsolete. Moving from a 60HZ to a 144HZ (or even 120HZ) is captivating, you won't go back.
1080P is not enough anymore, 4K is just too much.

Yup I have the Asus PG278Q.tiny fx wrote

I'm thinking of visiting spotnet tonight when I go back to beirut and try one of their 144hz monitors out.
would anyone like to join??

arguement for 4k:
with a single overclcked gtx1080,I can easily run 4k ultra 60fps in some games: overwatch,doom...etc. especially competitive ones: cs:go,heroes of the storm? lol probably 250fps . as for more demanding games like witcher 3, removing hair works and AA takes it to about 55, with gsync on that should be smooth.Same thing with darksouls 3, aa off and maybe shadow on high or something will get u 60 or just below. it shouldn't be too much of a problem with gsync even if it was only 50.Besides I can always play at 1440p if I want. Sli or upgrading in the future will benefit more from it, As my card is a little overkill for 1440p as is.
arguement for 1440p:
Games will get more demanding at the same resolution in the future.playing a game at a monitor's native resolution is better than playing 1440p on a 4k monitor(or so they say) I haven't seen first hand how much worse it could be, especially with the pixels so small.
Exactly how noticeable is 4k compared to 1440p at 27inches?I'm not sure.
The value of 144hz is it worth the trade off (loosing all those pixels)?
paying for a 1440p monitor the same as a 4kgsync monitor? hard time justifying that.
I sometimes feel my gpu is too powerful for a 1440p monitor and that it would be a waste.
yes pg279q (ips 165hz) since I last posted I have found an even cheaper deal 1000$ including vat:).Although I'm not sure about warranty I have to talk to the shop. It's the same place where u got ur 1070 :P GCS if I remember correctly?Tech Guru wrotetiny fx wrotethe pg279q is available in lebanon for 950$ + vat with warranty...etc I have seen it a couple of times. but never running.Tech Guru wrote

Mate were does the pg279q available for for that price in Lebanon /Does SpotNet has it at Stcok - ( it is the pg279q not the pg278q). PC& Parts has the ROG Swift PG27AQ Gaming monitor as a a 2160p/60Hz/G-Sync/IPS , I do not know his asking price "Email as they mentioned".
Yep , I understand you point , to tackle 60fps on 2160p on demanding titles you need to dial down some some AA and graphic options ,The 1080 has DisplayPort (Version 1.4) which is capable of outputting > 60hz on 2160p , therefore as a great investment will be wait for ASUS 144hz 4K Monitors lol , Soon.
ASUS is preparing a 4K monitor with 144Hz refresh rate with Display Port 1.3

120HZ on Dota2 and 144Hz on CSGO made a whole lot of difference.
Specifically my head shot rate in CSGO improved. Nova Master to MGE in 3 weeks.

I have a full pc including a gtx 1080 in my closet, there is now way I can wait for asus . not to mention the expected price in lebanon
I'm still using 1080p and still will for the foreseeable future, a majority of the people agree with that, 1080p/60Hz is still king, and still will for the foreseeable future.MrClass wroteMany don't value the frequency of the monitor. Well 1440p/144hz/G-Sync or Free Sync is steep in price for a big portion of Gamers as such 1080p/60hz or 120hz .. is still taking a big portion - But If some one can afford to step higher that , we are talking here about two different leagues compared to a more "outdated" 1080p/60Hz.Die_Kapitan wroteI'm still using 1080p and still will for the foreseeable future, a majority of the people agree with that, 1080p/60Hz is still king, and still will for the foreseeable future.MrClass wroteMany don't value the frequency of the monitor. Does They ship to Lebanon :) Well the Acer Predator XB271HK or the Asus ASUS ROG PG279AQ look tempting frankly for a 2160p solution , the G-Sync makes a smooth experience below 60hz for example 50fps @ 50hz looks smooth since G-Sync adjusts the monitor refresh rate to the output FPS. 40fps @40hz ... Anything above 30-35 fps Gsync will make a smooth experience (Eye tricking with the eye tracks the actual refresh rate being displayed any thing below 35 hz the eye will detect it shuttering). So you made you mind :) I am actually now in a dilemma like you.tiny fx wroteDubai, uber.ae . I paid 898$ for it(its now selling for 858$). To be honest I would have paid an extra 20$ for the ftw instead of superclocked.although reviews say they can both end up clocking the same, I would have paid for the RGB leds instead of just white
Did a fair amount of research and the acx 3.0 cooling system seems to be the best air cooling on the 1080 gpu. The cards are remaining stable at 2100mhz over extended periods.

yea I saw that.I can OC just as much infact this is my first post from the new pc :)) . Talked with some youtubers and they told me I can run BF1 without dipping under 60 on a high ultra mix at 4k but that I should stick to 144hz. Still havent got the monitor yet, busy updating and installing everything for now. Got a small issue I need solving regarding the fans so help me solve that in the other post :)Tech Guru wroteGTX 1080 UHD Let's Play: 4K60 Gameplay Testing!

MSI 1080 OC Gaming Z (which is OC Further) - Heavily OC , tipping 50-55 and dips to 40s (Alpha Particles) on Demanding Titles (Most High not ultra preset and some some times shadows = high) , non demanding titles such as Over Watch = 60 fps (all on native 4k Monitor). guess 2160p/60 fps is tipping on its heals, with the release of Vega or 1080Ti it will be narrower , and fully done with next alteration of NVidia architecture. For me I will go with a 1440p 144hz G Sync Monitor -
