  • cable provider throttling YouTube (12pm to 12am)

So I talked to my cable internet provider about poor performance on youtube in the afternoon and asked if it could be fixed. He said like every typical ISP that he will look into it. That was 2 weeks ago. Still nothing. The thing is that my friend from another city has the same problem. Seems suspicious eh?

So I tried using a VPN to see if anything would change. And to my expectation YouTube started buffering at 720p instead of 360p. Shocking right? I opened up the windows 10 task manager and without vpn youtube is limited to 1mbps. With the VPN it uses all the bandwidth that I am paying for.

Is that even legal? And talking to him puts him in denial.

TL,DR: Many cable providers including mine throttle YouTube, using VPN fixes it.
same over here, IDM, limited plan connection (50gb/month), VPN solves any connection slowdowns

This country is a joke, we have the infrastructure to get better speeds and services but the monopoly that the government created with ogero is holding us back tremendously. I mean i am pulling 100mbps with my 4g+, so why wouldn't residential subscriptions be the same? This is a fucking joke to have only 2mbps or 4 in 2016 in a world where staying connected is crucial.

i cry when i see the world talking about symmetrical gigabit... i even would do anything to get symmetrical 50mbps..

People should go protest in front Ogero and in mass like they did for garbage, only the people can change things, don't ever wait for a political party or leader to help you fight for your rights because they are all dirty, MTV showed for weeks how Ogero's Youssef was the main problem why internet is not evolving but it's not enough if people stay in their home.
Here, i cry for a stable 2mbps without interruption, everywhere else everyone gets 15mbps or more, so sad dont you think. Slow internet can create a big disaster, some might hack....steal...... just for more because here is not enough.
