  • Which Cube case for a micro-ATX rig ?

Hey everyone ,

My specs (Edit) :

Motherboard : GA-H81M-S2PT , Micro ATX Form Factor; 24.4cm x 18.0cm
Link : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5068#sp

Note : I am satisfied with my actual mini atx board , i bought it as a replacement after my ATX mobo burned out , and it does the job decently .

Gpu : Msi Gtx 970 4gb (269 mm X 141 mm X 35 mm )

I5 4460 + stock cooler

16 gb ram ( 2X8)

500W LDLC Psu (NOT THE STOCK COOLER MASTER PSU )86 mmX150 mmX140 mm (Link : http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00105015.html)

Bluray drive

125gb Ssd

1 Tb hdd

My case is currently a mid-tower Cooler Master RC 350 (180 x 408 x 454 mm / 7.1 x 16.1 x 17.8 inch ) with a micro-atx motherboard , and i want to change it for a cube case . I move alot between beirut and the countryside , and this would make moving my pc easier . Now i know that cube cases have airflow issues , and are still very heavy , but i just need something that'd fit better in my car . My current choice is : http://www.coolermaster.com/case/lan-box-haf-series/haf-xb-evo/ . I may import it as it is not available in lebanon . I also saw the other cube case on pcandpart.com and macrotronics , but they have build quality issues or cannot receive all of the parts listed in my specs .

Also , feel free to recommend any case you'd think would be portable ( even towers , as long as they have handles ) , i don't mind the weight , just something that'd fit along all my stuff in my car without being damaged easily .

Thanks in advance
It helps if you share with us the detailed GPU model for length clearance, the motherboard you already have (or if you want to get a new one), also the PSU info (is it the PSU that comes with the RC350?)

One general advice, do not ship cases from abroad because it will cost you a lot due to the heavy weight of the package and the customs will charge you based on estimation they set based on size and weight
You're right about the shipping , but i usually let a family member living in europe bring over my order with them , while i pay the extra baggage cost and customs . I'm going to update the length and name details now
Alright, I checked the price list at pcandparts and macrotronics, I only found 1 logical choice, Thermaltake Suppressor F1 Mini ITX for 58$ (without taxes)

I have a friend who managed to build a system with MSI gtx980Ti Gaming using this case
Looks great , but it lacks support for more than 2 HD (excluding the ssd ) as i intend to upgrade . I guess i'm asking for too much to get a cube or small-form factor case , i'd rather go for a mid-sized rig that's robust with handles .

I also made a mistake in the note i added : i said i had an itx at the place of an micro atx , my bad . I'd surely go for a mini itx as they are pretty cheap if i could find a decent case
