Hey guys , i would like to ask if anyone here have passed through this same situaution , i have a board that i am not using , i recently took it out and found out that the cpu pins are bent , is there anyway to fix it ? Board is maximus formula vi.
how many pins are bent? Can u post a closeup shot of the pins
i think you can fix it if the pins are not broken. though it's a surgery. You need tweezers, a magnifying glass on a stand, and proper lighting

I think its beyond fixing? i dont think i can do such delicate work
And this is why I prefer PGA to LGA, bent pins are way easier to fix with platforms that use PGA. That and sockets being cheaper to manufacture which makes motherboards a bit cheaper
Well I think it is possible, the image was blurry I couldn't tell if there is a broken pin or not, you need a very very think and long slotted screw driver, a thick needle could work, use it carefully to lift up any badly bent pin to a level that can be worked with without touching the nearby pins, then you need a mechanical pencil, also if you have a big numbers of slightly bent pins you can use a credit card to mass align them.

An important idea you have to keep in mind, is the CPU you have (if you do) worth the risk?
