Believe it or not, I'm not defending AMD's CPUs by any stretch of the imagination I'm just saying that it won't bottleneck a card unless it's in a CPU-intensive game. Not quite, @Marduk, the FX 6300 is a bit cheaper (negligibly so, though), AMD are only a sensible choice in the low-end where you have the Athlon X4 845 for around $60, which is Pentium territory, and is a better choice than Pentiums, mainly due to it being a quad-core.
Anthony2000 wrotedefending AMD now is fruitless, especially in the CPU department. just wait till Zen is out and then AMD might be relevant, but for the time being their products are outdated and outclassed.
Defending FX CPUs is fruitless. Athlons and APUs are still a good choice for HTPCs and sub-$400 builds.
