hey guys after a couple of weeks of overwatch's release i noticed something really weird
all players connected to an ISP different than Ogero have high latency around 200 ms while ogero users had around 100 and sometimes less.
i dug deeper into that and noticed the tracert results are so different the ogero goes directly to blizzard EU while all other ISPs go to UK than new York than comeback to europe which explains the high ping.
the only way i can play the game is by using a VPN and cut my ping into around 130ms.
So far i'm managing with some trial vpns and don't feel like paying for a premium one,i'm already paying a lot for some crap internet in lebanon i don't need to pay more fees.
I contacted battlenet and worked with them live to try to fix but the result ended up being that it's my ISP's fault( i knew that but it's a way to convince them)
does anyone have an idea on how we can fix that or make our ISPs fix it ?
A friend of mine is also facing this problem. I am on Ogero and he is on mobi broadband, the first time he played overwatch his ping was in 100 to 150 ms range then after a week or so he was hit with 200 ms + ping.
Thank you for sharing this with us now I can tell him what is going on and maybe using a VPN could help him.

the same happened to me normal ping in beta and 1st couple of days
ISP should fix this. We shouldn't be forced to use a VPN to play online.
I'm having a huge increase in ping from Sodetel (surprise surprise). On Overwatch it went from 110-120 to 190-200. On World of Warcraft it's even higher now. I really despise this company.

sorry to burst your bubble guys, it not the ISP. let me explain. i live in beirut and currently with IDM, lets just skip how shitty IDM is and just get to the point. when overwatch was in beta i had 75 to 70 and sometimes 65 ping (i have pictures for whomever is sceptical) when Overwatch launched, it was okay for the first 2 days, and then on the third day my ping was 173 constant. i thought it was IDM, but then i opened cmd and ping'ed 8.8.8.8 it was a normal 45 ms. went into othe games, my ping is normal. i got a hold of the IP we all connect to EU through (185.60.112.157) and to my surprise, the routing is shit, take a look:

before this it directly went from Marseilles to the Netherlands with a ping of 75 70.

however they fixed this over the last 3 to 4 days, and today it got worse yet again. a VPN can solve this issue, and i also recommend getting WTFast as well, while i have 153 ping ingame without it, i have 80 with it.

i hope this helped you guys out.

Hello there;

I just want to ask you about the VPN and WTFast.

First of all, I have a 2mbps connection from IDM.
My usual ping in most games is 110-120+ ms. (Could get to 200+ ms even)
I have already tried BattleFast GPN, but it was useless pretty much (Sometimes I ended up with ping more than I usually get!)

My question is:
What's your connection type?
And do you think WTFast will work properly with my connection? and is it worth it? (And which plan did you get on WTFast Basic/Advanced?)

Thanks in advance!
