While Vega will surely beat the GTX 1070 and 1080, we have to wait and see what it delivers.
HBM2 is nice, and its production is ahead of schedule, so Vega might actually launch in October according to some sources, Summit Ridge might launch in October too, which makes both come to market before Big Pascal and Kaby Lake (not too sure, but according to MSI, 200 series boards will come out in November, and while most 100 series boards support Kaby Lake, they'll probably do like the 80 and 90 series boards, they'll launch the 200 series, which support Skylake, Kaby Lake and Cannonlake, the day they launch Kaby Lake).
Problem is according to some sources, AMD will only launch hexa and octa core CPUs, and may only launch quad cores for OEMs, so unless they price Summit Ridge competitively it'll be enthusiast-only. I think AMD may market APUs for the mainstream and CPUs for the enthusiast-class.
