Hi,
I'd like to get some helpful advice as to which notebook i should purchase and i thought this would be the perfect place to do so,
The laptop will not be used for gaming but more for business, multimedia, browsing, etc...
Seeing as i haven't purchased a laptop for almost five years now, i thought why not get a high end one that'll last a while.
I've managed to narrow the choice down to two models for now (though any suggestions outside these two are more than welcome)

1) Lenovo Ideapad 500 80NT00-J7AX (PC and Parts) Intel core i7 6500U, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SSHD, 15.6' Full HD, Radeon R7-M360 4GB Dedicated VGA, Windows 10. 830 Dollars

2) HP Envy 15-AE103ne (PC and Parts or Microcity) Intel core i7 6500U, 12GB DDR3 RAM, 256GB SSD, 15.6' LED Touch, GTX950M 4GB, Windows 10. Almost 1300 Dollars

I'm considering getting the Lenovo and upgrading to an SSD too. (Is that a good idea?)

Also is the upgrade from SSHD to SSD worth it?

Thanks for the help
Cheers
Well if you're willing to spend 1300$ on the HP why not the HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook 15-ak100ne Touch (pcandparts) ?
It's cheaper, more ram, better cpu(quad core vs dual core + more cache) + 2TB HDD..
Plus for 1300$, if you don't need it for gaming get a ThinkPad. These machines rocks (I got one it's solid)
Well i'm leaning more towards ssd (or at least sshd) plus i'm not exactly thrilled over the idea of spending 1300 dollars for overkill even for the envy (which is why i'm thinking of getting the ideapad and upgrading to an ssd)
Yeah thinkpads are great but a non-hdd thinkpad will set you back 1500 dollars as a minimum.
Do you think, for my needs, that getting the ideapad and upgrading to an ssd (probably 100$ extra) is a good idea, or am i justified in dishing out 1300 and getting the envy?
Do not get that envy, it only has a 720p screen.

About the lenovo, IV seen a couple of ideas pads in the recent past that were sub par in build quality, I only trust lenovo with thinkpads

I found this one interesting ENVY 13-D000NE, it has a QHD screen, ultra light weight, 512 GB ssd, i7-6500u and 8gb ram. This has no gaming potential so keep that in mind. It retails at around 1330$ at microcity
If I had 1300$ to burn on a laptop, I'd probably buy a 13" Macbook or the 12" Macbook (2016). But then again, it depends how you feel about OSX and Apple in general.
@Hadi

Well I got the E550 for about 750 or 800$ (i5/4gb ram/amd gpu 2gb/ hd screen).

Some users on the forum disagree with me, but I personally found the ssd useless.
I have an old intel ssd 128GB I got it about 5 years ago. The only improvement I found was fast boot and faster rendering.
But for your everyday browsing I think it's overkill. And like mmk92 mentioned the envy is 720p, so if you want a full hd forget about it.
I hadn't noticed the envy has 720p display, you'd expect to get fhd for that price. But then again i personally don't mind non fhd but i would've expected it at that price point.
I've never owned a mac, the farthest i've went with apple is a 4th gen iphone, i can't say i'm a huge fan but i do see where the advantage in getting a mac is (ease of use, reliability, snappy performance), it's just something i have to think about.
Yeah i think you'd expect the ideapad to be less sturdy than the hp or the thinkpad ofcourse but i also won't be subjecting the machine to gruelling conditions.
As for the thinkpad, i just had another look at microcity's list i found an E560 (i7, 8gb, 2gb radeon, 15.6", 1TBhdd) for 1000, but i'm not sure if it's full hd as well (i've got a feeling it isn't). I think a 1000 is fair given the specs plus i can always upgrade to an ssd later.
I came here for answers, and i ended up with more questions. Lol
