  • New internet speeds in Lebanon in the coming months

Looks like our prayers have been finally answered.
I can't believe it's finally happening.
no word on the exact day, but rather in the "coming months"

Where did you get this image from?
Good but whats the point if 70% of lebanese internet clients won't benefit of this since the central is too 'far' or their line can't handle speeds beyond 256,1mbps etc...
I'd rather see an announcement where they declare upgrading the existing the infrastructure instead of overusing it.
Well I hope my central starts syncing on ADSL2 because I will feel ripped of if I only get 4Mbps when the speeds double. The quotas are better but still too tiny for modern usage.

First April joke?
smthg is wrong... mpt is ministry of telecom.... mot is ministry of tourism... this is fake... try again for better luckk ...
Ok i got fooled, look. i was wondering why this got posted in the lobby in first place, quite obvious now.

I must say thank you for this amazing news at 9:30am that put a smile on my face for two seconds. Then I realized it's April.

Well played sir. Even though now I feel like it's April fools everyday with this beautiful government we have.
He should have increased the quota, we would have got more happy for these two seconds.

Nah, I was fine with just having my porn load faster with those new speeds. Shame.
If this is an April Fools joke, you're a real d*** for getting us so excited. Otherwise thank you for the amazing news
That's a sick joke to play on a fellow geek
non of this is achievable anyway without fiber to the house
I got ecstatic
at the news. But then of course,
it was April's fools.

A sad haiku for an equally sad revelation. Thanks for about 5 seconds anyways!
Good job mate best April fool joke tjis year i bet you fooled all of us for at least a couple of seconds. Anyway good job, nice idea, and some work has been put into to it
This makes sense, especially the VDSL part bcz its pricing scheme eluded me. Ogero installed and the minister launched a VDSL2 active cabinet in my area with FTTC.
What isn't clear though is that there should be a new E1 pricing based on this schema. Also, 8Mbps unlimited for 50$ doesn't make a lot of sense on ADSL2+
