Recently, whenever i encounter another human (for now only men) in any situation that we are together at some place for 5 min i smack him with random conversation just to get the flow on and possibly see how hes going to reply. I feel both happy and increase in self esteem whenever this conversation finish because i spoke with a stranger and we both had a good chat etc..
So if anyone would like to boost their self esteem try it, not at any encounter, try it when you feel you are in a good mood.
NuclearVision
I try it often, but it sounds odd, or they sound not interested, oh and never try it out with girls, you'll definitely get slapped.

For me the best conversation starters right now are:
1. The awful 'wade3' in Lebanon.
2. The fact that I have 5000LL at the end of the month and the valet parking now charges 7000LL
3. Chicken or the egg?
4. The correct word for hose is Nabrish or narbish?

Do you have any more of these things bro?! xD

if you kidnap a schizophrenic guy .. is this normal kidnapping or a hostage situation ?
If a kid refuses to sleep during nap time, are they guilty of resisting a rest?
If a baby's leg pops out at 11:59PM but his head doesn't come out until 12:01, which day was he born on?
Do they have the word "dictionary" in the dictionary?
Why is it that everyone driving faster than you is considered an idiot and everyone driving slower than you is a moron?
Why do they call the little candy bars "fun sizes". Wouldn't it be more fun to eat a big one?
Why does quicksand work slowly?

For shizzles:
5. The correct word for spoon is 'male23a' or 'ma3el2a'
6. The correct word for musquito is Baghrash or barghash.
6 is obvious but I have friends who say the wrong one and they're pretty convinced about it
NuclearVision
Never heard anyone saying baghrash, probably a north lebanese village word.

The one that aggravates me the most is 'sajra' instead of 'shajra'.
NuclearVision
sajra is pretty common, and to be honest is less heavy to be said, eventhough it is wrong.

Geeky questions if the environment is compatible:
Ps4 vs xbox, PCmasterrace vs consoles, virtual reality vs augmented reality, hotmail vs gmail, online gaming vs single player gaming, android vs ios, ubuntu vs linux mint, asus vs msi, whatsapp vs telegram, reddit vs other sites, root vs unroot, backups vs without any backup. Will add more later on, rereading it imagine if a girl could answer these flawlessly.

I have known no geeks in real life, no idea why...

The only time I've ever heard it is from 60 year old hens in Ashrafieh most of whom spew words in French that don't even understand.

This habit is very common outside of here, whenever I'm abroad especially in very culturally heterogeneous countries I tend to to find myself socializing with tens of strangers daily. This also applies to some foreigners I meet in Lebanon as well.
I guess we're a very prejudice culture that's why it seems so outlandish.
NuclearVision
Hm some of the questions i'd bring up are usually related to the spaciotemporal frame.
For example, when i meet a engineer, an artist, a physician, i try to bring up relevant topics, that usually reflect my culture, without diving in the matter nor claiming to know things to outscore the other chatter, but more like wanting to learn from them, and it usually leaves a good impression.

Do you prefer the white half or the darker half of a pita ?

I wouldn't think about starting a conversation with a man. I would be obsessing about women but then again I would find it hard to force myself to talk to them and not feel like having an awkward forced conversation just because she's so awesomely good and cool looking. I often find myself talking to men at social gatherings, it's easy but then sometimes I have the same problem where I run out of subjects and it feels forced and crap.
It's pretty nice to have short interactions with nice strangers. The ones you want to avoid you usually can tell, their body language would be telling you to stay away (can't use other words) long before you speak to them.
But I didn't think it would be enjoyable when it's provoked.
Lebanese often strike conversations. About my car, or other stuff. People in Europe are more reserved. On the other hand I've had people smile at me, or randomly do friendly and cheerful things. Much rarer in Lebanon.
Lebanese spelling is a good subject starter for sure. You can see how many people use which spelling and it's a relatively "happy" subject.
NuclearVision
it really depends on where you are.
For instance, i don't think anyone will refuse a short talk in a club, at the movies, in a theatre, where people usually hang out of boredom.
(But again, people come in groups and it might feel odd to integrate).
On the other hand, sometimes i'm in the supermarket or on the road short on time, and people want to chat, it is really frustrating.

I love to argue about my atheistic thoughts to open minded people (not the ones who just say God exists and that's it). But some people may take it offensively or think you're a complete idiot.
