So i have been with this ISP for 2 years. (They are called ferrari-networks). I'm near saida. I pay 55$ for 5mbps unlimited (No catches) you just get 1.5gb from 4pm to 12 pm. I get around 50ms ping. For the past month i have been getting a pattern of request timed out pings which basically kills my internet for 10-15 seconds every minute or 2
(pings are way lower to gateway outside peak hours, you don't notice a difference tho).

usually from Morning till 6pm if there's an electricity outage the ping is fixed with no request timed out at all (seriously, about 4 hours of ping with not a single request timed out). But as soon as the electricity comes back (excluding hours from 6pm-10pm) This pattern comes back again. Called my provider several times and he says he can't figure out what's the problem since he can't find anything weird from his end. So this place was my last resort. Any suggestions?

Note: This is a wireless link to a Hotspot and my access point is a Mikrotik.
Maybe some electrical interference? Voltage problem? Have you tried a wired connection with your access point? This would rule out that part of the connection.
Otherwise maybe it's your access point? You can test by replacing it, maybe?
Anything beyond that should be your ISP's responsibility, and he should come and test it.
I don't know who you're dealing with, how professional he is, so good luck.

The Mikrotik runs on power over Ethernet. so i guess ill use some external power source to check if there's a voltage problem like you suggested. Hope it's not the AP because that thing is expensive. I'll post back here. Thanks for your suggestions.
Exactly like my issue that i had a while ago.
I changed the router (which turned out to be working fine), the link router on rooftop and all connections... It turned out it's the cable. Change it.

Did it work over (eshtirak) and stop working on electricity?

Well at first I noticed that! I have a UPS installed for the router/roof equipment! I noticed the internet goes down at 6 hours interval! After that it used to work for like 5min and go out and than had to unplug all cables and the same story again and again...
If your cable is more than 2 years old it's most probably it!
Can I please know more about your connection?
I mean I get 1mbps for 25$/month also on cable and unlimited. FUP applies only from noon till midnight.

What are your conditions? etc... 5mbps for 55$ seems crazy good!
My connection is really weird. It's too good to be true. I am waiting for a disaster to happen because so far this is too good honestly. I subbed to these guys 2 years ago via a reseller. I had 3mbps and limited to 40 GB/months for 55$ and UNLIMITED nights, Not like IDM's unlimited or other ISPs for that matter. Then half a year ago, they upgraded my account to 5mbps VIP (VIP means they throw you in a priority pool) and they made the connection unlimited from 12 am to 4pm. And after 4 you get 1.5gigs per night. They created a turbo app a couple of weeks ago made by nuclearcat where you get a turbo speed of 15mbps for 1 hour per day off peak hours (so you can download 5gigs in an hour or so).
Ping is crazy good, one catch tho is on some sites you get 350KB/s and UDP is 175KB/s (always) but tcp is 5mbps stable. Worked around this with DD-WRT and a vpn from my vps.

This is my speedtest

Anyway. These guys setup fibre with the help of ogero in nabatieh. So if you live in saida, near/saida they are the best ISP.

about 3 months ago i did about 200Gigs of downloads.
Hello RandomMemory. The key here is at the bottom right of your graph: "Faster than 91% of LB". Sounds good.
Also your upload is really fast. Better than what I have here (outside Lebanon). As for the rest, I think that your ping is only "crazy good" by Lebanese standards.

True, it does go lower by 35ms outside peak. They changed routing 3 months ago, i used to get 35ms to Netherlands on speedtest. Too bad i am having this issue right now that's affecting gaming.

are you sure they don't use cache ? many isps trick speedtest.net
do you have some ports throttled like ftp https and p2p?
Most of resellers throttle these.

Forgot about this thread. My link is now fixed.
And when it comes to cache, no they do not cache, i get 175KB/s on p2p, tho you can use something called turbo on their app and you get 15mb/s for 1 hour so you can download about 5 gigs in an hour on anything you want. But if you use a vpn you get 400 KB/s on p2p. So no it's actual speed. I use the connection for IPtv sometimes on my android tv box.
Whatever it is tho. It is a really good connection. Yesterday was the first time in a year my download queue is empty heh.

He changed the router at his end. And it solved the problem. Lucky for me it rained before this winter ends and his router died so he changed it to something decent or i would have been stuck with a really bad internet all summer.
impressive, at one point in time, my who-is showed ferrrari networks, i paid around 30$ but it was miserable...

When it comes to them there's 2 options. If you are close to them it's either you buy directly from them, or you buy from a re-seller. When it comes to re-sellers, they are sold quotas, same with VISP. If you are in beirut, you probably bought from a re-seller that bought a low amount of bandwidth and he's overusing it. (or he used it when he ran out of his main bandwidth).
