so here its is, im planning to buy a new laptop during june or anytime before it, atm ive got a toshiba tecra A10 which barely handles gaming at full throttle, so this is a big leap for me, i found a 4k lenovo y50 on pcandparts for 1.1k, but the problem is that this laptop cant handle 4k gaming, so my question is that if i changed the resolution to 1080 in the control panel, will it be like the lenovo y50 with 1080 monitor and same fps as the y50 1080p edition and will it look like it??? and does anyone knows if there is a better or cheaper place to buy the lenovo y50 with 1080 or 4k monitor, or if there is a better laptop for a better price.....

even if it is expensive, the price of this laptop and all maxwell architecture based laptops and gpu's will have a price drop...Marduk wrotei know that but wouldnt it be pricy for lots of reasons.....MrClass wrotewell the mobile pascal architecture will be announced soon. i would recommend waiting and see

I wanted to buy thi laptop but reviews said it has poor build quality
the thing is that i dont have many choices, and its seems fine as long as it works, i dont care if its made of plastic or metal or if fingerprints stay on the laptop... i just want a gaming capable laptop with backlit keyboard and 1080p with quadcore cpu and this one seems to fit the description just fine, but living in lebanon means that it costs here more and there arent lots of choices of other gaming laptops at a good price.Georges00 wroteI wanted to buy thi laptop but reviews said it has poor build quality
4720HQ is already 2 generations old... something to consider...

I'm basing my comment on the fact that with every new generation, intel improves the performance, power consumption etc by around 5 to 10%. So 2 generations difference should amount to around 15% improvement. The extra 0.1 clock speed will be overshadowed by the cpu being 15% better overall, that amounts to like 0.5ghz advantage for the newer one. If it heats less it would also be a factor in performance since cpus throttle when they heat and deliver less performance, and I heard intel did create some new ways to decrease heat output with skylake.Marduk wroteold but gold, probably only bad because of the integrated graphics which im not going to use.... u should search 4720hq vs 6700hq and check yourself....user wrote4720HQ is already 2 generations old... something to consider...
