Hello everyone.
I recently installed a new land line (North Lebanon) and I live around 200 to 400 meters away from the Central (depending on the route). I want to subscribe to a ADSL service. To keep things simple for y'all, I have my mind set on either the OGERO/2 Mbps/Unlimited or the IDM/4 Mbps/50 GB plans.
At 55$, the OGERO plan is a bit hefty on the pocket, so my preference would be the IDM plan, which with all expenses accounted for - including Unlimited Night Traffic - comes to about 40$ a month. (Not to mention the much cheaper installation fees for IDM).
Now this is where I need some help: I will only consider the IDM plan if I can get at least 3.5 Mbps out of my Central/Line connection. This is not about throttling or FUP, I know all about those. I'm only talking about pure OGERO line quality. I asked OGERO and IDM and neither could tell me for certain that I will be able to attain 3.5 to 4 Mbps speeds. One IDM sales rep. (Nicolas) told me that since I live rather close to the Central and since my line was newly installed, I would have no problem with 4 Mbps. Another IDM sales rep. (Patricia) told me that lines are bad in my area and that I should realistically expect a 2 Mbps connection. So which is which? Can anyone here offer any insight on this matter, based on technical knowledge or first hand experience?
Thank you.

Go Ogero. Iwas with sodetel having an "unlimited night download" and yet I still couldn't wait to drop them for ogero. What they don't tell you about the "unlimited night" is that they can and often do drop your speed down by 75%. With sodetel it got so bad I wished they would actually take my money and keep my speed... I have freaking work to finish...
Not sure if IDM is any different, but I doubt it, why would it be?
